2025 has been a peaceful year in Desert Breezes. We’ve had many new residents coming in as other homeowners sell and move on. We’ve had many social activities with clubs and groups that have continued to offer opportunities to residents for exercise and fellowship.
This year we lost a few longtime residents who left a legacy of friendship and caring behind. As we finish the year, we hope you will all give a thought or prayer for these residents and their families.

Gloria Derchan passed away at 96 on May 4. Gloria moved to assisted living a few years ago but had lived in Desert Breezes for 30 years and still has friends here who remember her. She and her husband Hal were active in the HOA. Gloria was an active member of the Architectural and Hospitality Committees and she was a daily visitor to the clubhouse for years. She is survived by 3 children, 3 grandsons, and 2 great grandsons.

Kathleen Hansen passed away May 22, after living on Cape Verde Drive in Desert Breezes for five years. Kathy was an antique dealer. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Urbanus.

Ned Gregor died in June. He spent some of his time here on the tennis and paddleball courts and walking with his twin sister Jane Iman, of Via Granada, who survives him.

Edward Kerby died on July 11. Ed was a car guy, loving to drive his Porsche around until the last few years. He is survived by his wife, Sheila, and granddaughter Windy, both of CLBN.
