The next Desert Breezes Ladies’ Lunch will be held on Wednesday, November 12 at noon at the Desert Willow Golf Course restaurant, The Terrace. The lunch group has met there regularly, eating good food, conversing with good friends, and enjoying the great view: the rolling hills of the golf course. In addition, the clubhouse houses a magnificent Dale Chihuly art work, which hangs 23 feet above the floor on the way into the restaurant. It is 12 feet long and is in the colors of the desert, green, purple, amber, and sand.
The Ladies’ Lunch group has been meeting monthly for many years; none of our current members were active in the group at its inception. In the past few years, Tersa Rudow ran the group, selecting restaurants and coordinating our meetings. Sheila Kerby has taken over the notifications and we take turns deciding on a location and making the reservations.
During the slower summer season here, we’ve had 12-15 women attend each luncheon and the numbers increase when the snow birds arrive. We catch up on what’s new here and with each of us. At the last meeting, we had 15 women, one of whom brought a family member from out of town, another homeowner who rents her house also attended, as did a long term homeowner who has recently moved to be closer to family.

The Ladies who Lunch dined at D’Coffee Bouteague, on Cook Street, in July. A great time was enjoyed by the attendees who feasted on a wide selection of salads, sandwiches, omelettes, and a large assortment of tea and coffee beverages. We enjoyed escaping the high heat of summer and caught up with each other..
D’ Coffee Bouteaque – Palm Desert
In August, we plan on eating at Legends in Palm Desert. Legends is an old school sports bar and diner that’s a favorite for many Desert Breezes residents. The luncheon is scheduled for August 13 at noon. For more information or to make a reservation, call or text Sheila Kerby at 323-893-6770.
