Ian de la Roche would like to share with you his perspective on the recently proposed changes to the parking rules and regulations. Ian is a former Board Member and served five years on the Compliance Committee.

I reviewed the suggested revisions to the Parking section in the Rules and Regulations document sent out to home owners. Please refer below to PARKING RULES Proposed.IAD below.
Some general observations:
- The proposed parking rule changes are terribly confusing and could result in owner backlash and potential legal liabilities. The proposed changes sent out to homeowners for review are in several instances in conflict with the subsequent notices of October 28, November 1 and November22.
- A new document with proposed rule changes should be prepared which incorporates all the subsequent revisions and then sent out for homeowner review and comment before Board approval of any changes.
- This appears to have been a very ad hoc and messy exercise. Sadly, the Compliance Committee was not involved.
Let’s simplify the confusing parking rules, and go back to issuing every household two (2) guest permits for overnight parking.

I completely agree with the re-issuance of guest permits. The new rules with having to notify the HOA ahead of time do not allow for a situation where a guest unexpectedly needs to stay over night.
